About Peggy
When I play, all of my music is dedicated to the glory of God.
Harpist Peggy Bailey has been performing on the harp for more than 28 years. During that time, she has had the privilege of sharing her music in a variety of settings, including a performance at Athens' Classic Center with well-known musician and artist Mark Maxwell.
Throughout northeast Georgia, Peggy has performed at The Melting Point, The Classic Center's Memorial Service of Wholeness, the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, Saint Mary's Christmas festivals and events, the Madison Candlelight Tour of Homes, church cantatas, weddings, funerals, retirement celebrations, private luncheons, and many other special events.
Peggy regularly shares her music as a ministry volunteer at the University Cancer and Blood Center, Saint Mary's Hospital, Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, Mercy Health Center, and Arbor Terrace of Athens.
Peggy began studying the harp as a child with internationally recognized harpist Marjorie Tyre. As an adult, she continued her studies with Winifred Garrett, principal harpist with the Long Leaf Opera and Durham Symphony, and with Monica Hargrave, Professor of Harp at the University of Georgia.
Whether performing for a joyful celebration, a worship service, or a time of comfort and reflection, Peggy seeks to create an atmosphere of beauty, peace, and grace through the music of the harp.
