The Artist

When I play, all of my music is dedicated God's glory.

Harpist Peggy Bailey has performed with her harp for the last 25 years. She had the privilege to perform in  various venues, including a performance at the Classic Center with well known musician and artist, Mark Maxwell.

Locally (in Athens, Georgia) she has played at The Melting Point, The Classic Center Memorial Service of Wholeness, The Botanical Gardens of Georgia, St. Mary's Christmas Festivals and Events, Church Cantatas, weddings, funerals, retirement parties, private luncheons and other venues.

She plays regularly as a ministry volunteer at Saint Mary's Hospice House, Mercy Health Center, and Arbor Terrace of Athens.

Peggy briefly studied harp as a girl with nationally known harpist Marjorie Tyre (who was also a family friend and sparked Peggy's interest in music). When Peggy moved to Athens, Georgia there were no harp instructors in the area so she pursued a study of flute, but over the years longed to get back to her first love--the harp.  30 years later she did.  As an adult, she studied with Winifred Garrett, the principal harpist for Long Leaf Opera and Durham Symphony and Monica Hargrave, the University of Georgia harp professor.
